A thesis is not the end of research, it is the beginning of scholarly contribution. Many high-quality theses remain unpublished not due to weak content, but because theses and journal articles follow fundamentally different structures and expectations. Journals require precision, focus, originality, and strict editorial alignment that these are not designed to meet.
MERNet’s Thesis to Paper (T2P)service exists to bridge this gap. We offer two clearly structured T2P service pathways, designed to support both emerging researchers and experienced supervisors.
Package 1: T2P Prime
This pathway is designed for students who want complete academic guidance, from the earliest research idea to final journal submission. We begin at the thesis stage, not after completion.
What We Do
- Support idea generation and topic refinement aligned with publishable research questions
- Provide capacity building on research design, methodology, and analytical rigor
- Offer hands-on technical support during thesis development (structure, data analysis, interpretation)
- Ensure the thesis is completed with publication potential in mind
- Systematically convert the completed thesis into one or more journal-ready manuscripts
- Align the paper with specific journal scopes, styles, and reviewer expectations
Most theses fail to become papers because publication is treated as an afterthought. Our approach builds publication readiness from the start, reducing rejection and improving quality.
Package 2: T2P Conversion
This pathway supports researchers with completed theses who want to convert them into publishable journal articles. These are typically long and descriptive, while journal papers require focused, analytical, and well-argued writing. We transform thesis-length work into concise, Q1-standard journal manuscripts ready for submission.
What We Do
- Identify publishable core arguments within the thesis
- Restructure content to meet journal article logic, not thesis logic
- Reduce length while strengthening analytical depth
- Rewrite sections to meet Q1–Q3 journal standards
- Ensure methodology, results, and discussion meet reviewer expectations
- Support journal selection and submission readiness
MERNet’s T2P services are designed to ensure that good research does not end at submission but enters global scholarly conversation.
